I guess upgrading may be the best approach. It looks like config file syntax
changed over time.

http://www.lm-sensors.org/wiki/Devices has this to say about k8temp:

Upgrade to lm_sensors 2.10.1 or later is mandatory, earlier versions of
libsensors will fail with a "General parse error" message.

If memory serves, it's unrelated to the configuration file. I'm almost
certain that you would get the error with "sensors -c /dev/null". The
"parsing" in question would be related to the device name (or more
exactly bus name - k8temp was our first PCI device supported as such.)

You were right. I upgraded to 2.10.7, and it works now.

# sensors
k8temp-pci-00c3
Adapter: PCI adapter
Core0 Temp:
             +31°C
Core1 Temp:
             +30°C

k8temp-pci-00cb
Adapter: PCI adapter
Core0 Temp:
             +29°C
Core1 Temp:
             +19°C

(That looks a bit odd. A 10 degree C difference?)
