Just in case it's of any help, when I tried to upgrade to this version of lm-sensors on my CentOS 5.4 Linux machine, I had the same problem - the sensors appeared to report good values, but no alarms at all. I did ask here, but never got any response :-(, so I'm interested in the final solution as well.
