Hi Matt. Thats incredible, what a poor motherboard :(. First of all, there is no fan speed utility provided by MSI, I previously had a K8N Neo2 Platinum and it has, but I get this as a replacement for a electric discharge due an storm. I used on my old and broken one motherboard SpeedFan without problems, and its own utility CoreCenter but it seems that they aren't available for this motherboard, this is VIA based and the last one was NVidia. Well and after that the worst of the worst. I flashed last night with an older bios version (I had 3.6 and now 3.5) (this is not my first reflash of a motherboard and I know what I am doing). But, but, but, it seems that MSI is worst that I can't imagine, now after booting a message appears: Unknown Flash Type, and after a second or two it continues loading, but if you try to flash again to 3.6 or another bios version, the flash programming utility says the same: "Unknown Flash Type", the computer works ok, but I can't reflash to another version, I can live with it, but this things touch my xxxx. Maybe I will sell it, send it to RMA, change it for another board, but I can live with this airplane on my room ;). Well I will keep you informed on my research and on my headaches ;), a lot of thanks for your support. See you. 2008/8/14 Matt Roberds <mattroberds at cox.net>: > On Wed, 13 Aug 2008, Beth wrote: >> >> Well guys, more news, in my noisy desesperation I installed WinXP to >> see if SpeedFan would control the fan speed, and no luck, it also >> fails doing it. > > I don't know if this is exactly the motherboard you have, but other > people seem to claim that SpeedFan can adjust the fans on an MSI > "MS6702E (K8T Neo2-FIR)", per > http://www.almico.com/foruminfo.php?id=4879216 . > > If MSI provides a Windows utility to monitor or control the fan speed, > you might try that.
