I mis-typed: that would be the MAX6650, not the MAX6550, which does
not seem to exist.

Do you still want it?

The basic functionality is there and tested and ready to check in.
Still need to do the documentation. 

(A MAX6650 driver has been under development according to the 
new drivers page for a while, but there's no code in CVS.)
