If it is of any use, I have had similar kind of issue with M-Audio MobilePre (Mk II) USB audio interface. First the sound gets very noticeable static noise and soon after the playback just stops. After unplugging the device it does not get removed fmro the device list, and sometimes the whole USB subsystem seems to crash (keyboard gets stuck, un-/replugging will not help etc.) The problem has persisted at least since kernel version 3.2 (Ubuntu 11.10), but for certain it worked on Ubuntu 11.04 (2.6-series kernel). Not sure about 3.0 kernels. I also have the same issue on openSUSE 12.2, kernel 3.4.6. I have captured an usbmon log on Linux Mint 13 (Ubuntu 12.04-based), and it is available here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntustudio/+bug/1035602 Please let me know if this is of any use, and what kind of further information I can provide -Lassi -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-usb" in the body of a message to majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html
