I've tested with 2.6.38 (which was rumored to work) and with 3.0 + reset quirk
and usbcore.autosuspend=-1 on the kernel bootup line.
(Not yet had time to rebuild a newer kernel with your patch for additional
details.)

Unfortunately I have to report that neither of the mentioned setups works. :(

>From starting a skype call, everything works fine for up to 5 minutes.
After that, skype crashes, gnome sound properties can't list any input/output
devices (because pulseaudio seems to be upset), etc.
Unplugging and replugging the usb device and you'll get a couple of minutes
of skype conversation before the same thing happens again.
