To show some hidden device which is not present.

I do not use this option myself. I use the usbdeview utility.

You have to select 'Show hidden devices' from the "View" menu.

I just test it and the batch file works fine under XP Professional.

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
start devmgmt.msc
