It's not up to the kernel to "not disconnect" a device, that's an
electrical thing, it is only responding to the state of the hardware as
told to it.  So this might be an electrical issue with your keyboard,
the USB connector it is plugged into, any USB hubs or cables along the
way, or anything like that.

If it works on the same hardware with a different kernel, yes, that is
interesting to know.
