Hello,

I have an i-gotU GT100 usb gps data-logger that I would like to use
with linux. But it does not work.

Some information I found:
Vendor website: http://global.mobileaction.com/product/product_i-gotU_USB.jsp

cat /proc/bus/usb/devices :
T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=09 Cnt=01 Dev#= 2 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.01 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=0df7 ProdID=0900 Rev= 0.00
S: Manufacturer=Mobile Action
S: Product=GT100/GT200
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=a0 MxPwr=100mA
I:* If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=(none)
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 16 Ivl=1ms

The device is not registered at http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/
and not in http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.devices.txt

Generic Serial driver does not work:
# modprobe -v usbserial vendor=0x0df7 product=0x0900
dmesg:
usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial
usbserial: USB Serial support registered for generic
usbserial_generic 1-10:1.0: Generic device with no bulk out, not allowed.
usbserial_generic: probe of 1-10:1.0 failed with error -5
usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial_generic
usbserial: USB Serial Driver core

On windows2000, driver = magpsc.sys
driver installs a new COM port
Description="Mobile Action GPS USB Com Port"
found strings in driver magpsc.sys:
"DriverWorks (c) Copyright 1998 Compuware Corporation"
"E:\Root\Code\Product\GPS\Driver\cdma_3g\usbbulk\objfre\i386\magpsc.pdb"

NMEA sentences to characterize the device (sirfstar III chipset):
$PSRFTXT,GSW3.2.5_3.3.01.06-ADS-SDK001P1.00*16
$PSRFTXT,MO-20080226-SSB57600_S_DM1-LX*49

$PSRFTXT,CLK: 94893*22
$PSRFTXT,CHNL: 12*73
$PSRFTXT,Baud rate: 9600*66

Is there any change to get this device working under linux?
Thanks, Paul
