I highly recommend Arch Linux. Arch Linux has become my favorite Linux distro and I am going to run Arch on my web servers (currently running Debian). Thanks to Chris Brannon - the creator of the Talking Arch images. Chris is also a member of this list. http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_Linux_for_the_blind He recently built a 64-bit test image of Arch which also includes brltty. Just great! -----Original Message----- From: speakup-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:speakup-bounces at braille.uwo.ca] On Behalf Of Buddy Brannan Sent: 13. mars 2010 00:18 To: Speakup is a screen review system for Linux. Subject: Re: New Member Hey JP, GRML is great. It's a real nerd hacker's type OS and very command line/console-centric. If you want to really learn all the Unix-like stuff, it's probably a good choice. If you're interested in GUI software and the GNOME desktop, a good option is Ubuntu. -- Buddy Brannan, KB5ELV - Erie, PA Phone: (814) 860-3194 or 888-75-BUDDY On Mar 12, 2010, at 5:17 PM, Alex H. wrote: > hhi > > there's a distro called GRML > www.grml.org > it has speakup already installed to use software speech from the soundcard. > Note: you need GRML, not GRML Medium or GRML Small because thos don't > have Speakup installed. > > HTH > Alex > > On 3/12/10, JP Jamous <JP at jepelsy.com> wrote: >> Hi, I am A Systems Analyst, who's interested in learning about Linux.
