Linuxes to run on eeepc 701s or netbooks?

Sure, I built my speakup from Git, and got it working nicely.
considering possibly putting orca and gnome on the box though for GUI work.
Vinux might be what I want and with 12gb storage I might get away with it.

I don't have one myself (I opted for a laptop upgrade instead), but there is 
a
Debian installer specifically for the Asus EEEPC.

Once the basic operating system is installed, SpeakUp modules are waiting in
the repository.
