Slackware has speakup kernel but gnome does not come with it. So with that brief enalysis, I would say that Debian or Fedora are your best bets. For Fedora, go to http://www.speakupmodified.org and for Debian, go to http://www.debian.org and follow links to download and instrudctions; they use a distributed method - something like bittorrent to distribute images.
