-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi Chuck and all. Since we're on the topic of processing audio, I have a question of my own. Let's say, for example, that I have a file of someone demonstrating something, and this person talking is in the foreground, and slightly in the background is the sound of the device being demonstrated. What I was wondering is if it is possible to muffle the speech in the foreground, or get rid of it altogether, and bring the background sound into the foreground, making it the dominant sound, or making it the only sound being heard? I imagine what I want to do could be done, in whole, or in part, by applying frequency filters. However, I'm also not a sound geek, so don't know how I'd figure out the frequencies I need to filter, though from reading the sox man page, I think I do understand how to apply the high-pass/low-pass filters once I know what frequency ranges to filter out, and which filter to apply, high or low. Thanks.
