Hi Sergei,

Sox has a syntax that concatenates two files into one, providing they
have the same rate and number of channels. I think you could even
specify different parameters for one of them if they do not match.

I suggest you create a three second wave file of silence, then write a
simple script to ask sox to add it to the end of each of the wave files
you want to modify.

I have a wave editor called wedit that could do it, but unfortunately
it cannot do it from the command line. You would have to use it
interactively and modify each of the files one at a time. That is why I
would suggest looking into using sox to combine each of your files with
a three second file of silence.
