Anyway, blindness isn't my only disability, so even if I was able to apply the compound myself, I don't have the finger strength and coordination required to lock the heat sink into place, so I'd still need someone else to do that for me. The problem with bear bones systems is that the bear bones parts can be proprietary. I got an amtron bookpc in around 2000, June I believe it was. The mb burned out, and I had to wait about 9 months for them to get me a new one under warranty, since no other motherboards would match that particular bear bones design. When the second mb went, I just gave up on that system, and built one from scratch, that is a regular system in a regular tower case.
