The last time I did that, 2.6.21.6 did patch cleanly from cvs. Since I
haven't seen any updates to cvs via the cvs mailing list, and since
Kirk said yesterday that there are no plans to update cvs, I assume it
will still patch just fine into 2.6.21.x kernels.

No. Specifically, when trying to patch into 2.6.22.6, there are
failures patching keyboard.c, and vt.c.
