Hi All, Thanks to John for the command to stop the gdm from starting. I have it booting to the text login now. However, I now get the following error message when I login. hdb: request sence failure: status-0x51Driveready seekComplete hdb request sence failure aborting command error -0x04 The system is not dual boot and there is no other operating system. Sorry for all the questions but would really like to start using debian. Thanks Keith
