mplayer and compressed swf files

There was a recent discussion on the Debian users list about mplayer 
failing to play more than the first selection from a stream in the .wsx 
format, which xine handled with ease. It turns out to be a problem with 
the libavcodecs, which xine did not require. You may have come across a 
related bug. Maybe Tyler's tip will skirt the issue. Another powerful 
player with a crappy interface is vlc, the videoland client. It works 
from a text console okay, but is no fun whatsoever to use. It might do 
better with .swf but I haven't tried it.
