First, you need the eSpeak module, which is in speech-dispatcher CVS.
Or I can send you a copy off list.  Save that file in
/etc/speech-dispatcher/modules.

Once you have the module, add the following line to
/etc/speech-dispatcher/speechd.conf:

AddModule "espeak-generic"  "sd_generic"   "espeak-generic.conf" "/var/log/speech-dispatcher/espeak-generic.log"

Now if you want eSpeak to be the default synth, change the line that
begins with DefaultModule so that it says:

DefaultModule espeak-generic

Restart speech-dispatcher and you are speaking eSpeak.
