The apt howto has tips for upgrading and how to solve problems when packages won't upgrade properly. Basically the path to follow is apt-get update apt-get upgrade || apt-get dist-upgrade then apt-get install. The final apt-get install may have shown you the unresolved dependencies. is mplayer-nogui available and will it work for your system? Sean
