I described it in another mail to the speakup mailinglist a few
hours ago. In short: take a look at the manpage of grml2hd
(available online as well: http://grml.org/grml2hd/grml2hd.html) -
notice the '-mbr' option.

Hint: if you want to run speakup also on hd installation you have to
adjust the append-line(s) in /etc/lilo.conf so the bootoptions are
available to the kernel as well.

But you can install a plain Debian system through grml as well using
debootstrap. Take a look at 'grml-tips debootstrap' on the grml
live-cd to get an idea about debootstrap.
