I've got a titanium powerbook just dying for a solution. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom and Esther Ward" <tward1978@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Speakup is a screen review system for Linux." <speakup at braille.uwo.ca> Sent: Thursday, March 18, 2004 11:54 PM Subject: Re: Here maybe a solution to speech in X Windows: Hi, David. Actually, writing our own x toolkit is totally unnecessary as the gtk+ toolkits and even QT are being updated to work with gnopernicus and other screen readers. So it is a matter of patients rather than reinventing the wheel. Another disadvantage to introducing another toolkit is getting it adopted by mainstreme Linux developers that are already engaged in using other toolkits. Point here is x-windows accessibility is coming along very slowly, but is coming none-the-less. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Poehlman" <poehlman1@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Speakup is a screen review system for Linux." <speakup at braille.uwo.ca> Sent: Thursday, March 18, 2004 8:36 PM Subject: Re: Here maybe a solution to speech in X Windows: > so we'll have to build our own. _______________________________________________ Speakup mailing list Speakup at braille.uwo.ca http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup
