-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 You have a bunch of tools to help you figure out what is going on. Examine your bootup messages with "dmesg". Then as root look at your modules with "lsmod" for clues about sound related stuff. Also as root you can do "cat /proc/pci" or "lspci" to see what information is there about your sound card. Beyond that I am not so sure. In my case I examined the ".config" file for my kernel and found that the native kernel sound driver for emu10k1 was selected by default, so I unselected it and recompiled the kernel and my problem was solved. Shane will have some suggestions I am sure. Chuck - -- The Moon is Waning Crescent (3% of Full) In a world without Fences or Walls no one needs Windows or Gates.
