Hallo speakup users, My system is SlackWare 10.0 'visual'. Because my vision is getting less. I'm trying to make my system run speakup. The first step I made was applying the patches that come with SlackWare 10.0 to the kernel source, but that caused compile errors. Then I ran the checkout script [on a clean kernel of course :)], but also with no success. As I'm anCbete, I'm stuck and hope that somebody in this club can give me some advise. Here are the errors: === import === gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linux-2.4.26/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -Wno-trigraphs -O2 -fno-strict-aliasing -fno-common -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe -mpreferred-stack-boundary=2 -march=i686 -nostdinc -iwithprefix include -DKBUILD_BASENAME=speakup -DEXPORT_SYMTAB -c speakup.c speakup.c:105: error: `CONFIG_SPEAKUP_DEFAULT' undeclared here (not in a function) speakup.c: In function `say_from_to': speakup.c:917: warning: assignment makes integer from pointer without a cast speakup.c: At top level: speakup.c:1766: error: parse error before '{' token speakup.c:1771: error: parse error before numeric constant speakup.c:1772: warning: type defaults to `int' in declaration of `speakup_date' speakup.c:1772: warning: parameter names (without types) in function declaration speakup.c:1772: error: conflicting types for `speakup_date' speakup.c:132: error: previous declaration of `speakup_date' speakup.c:1772: warning: data definition has no type or storage class speakup.c:1773: error: parse error before '}' token speakup.c:1778: error: conflicting types for `speakup_date' speakup.c:1772: error: previous declaration of `speakup_date' speakup.c:1849: error: parse error before '{' token speakup.c:1871: warning: type defaults to `int' in declaration of `spkup_write' speakup.c:1871: warning: parameter names (without types) in function declaration speakup.c:1871: error: conflicting types for `spkup_write' speakup.c:1093: error: previous declaration of `spkup_write' speakup.c:1871: warning: data definition has no type or storage class speakup.c:1872: error: parse error before '}' token speakup.c:1879: warning: type defaults to `int' in declaration of `speakup_date' speakup.c:1879: warning: parameter names (without types) in function declaration speakup.c:1879: error: conflicting types for `speakup_date' speakup.c:1778: error: previous declaration of `speakup_date' speakup.c:1879: warning: data definition has no type or storage class speakup.c:1880: error: parse error before '}' token === tropmi === Groetjes, Hans. --- GoldED+/LNX 1.1.5/040412 * Origin: The Wizard is using MBSE/Linux (2:280/1018)
