The subject line may be a bit misleading at first, but here goes nothing. What I am looking for is a system command / tool that will allow me to broadcast a message to everyone connected to my Linux box. What I am doing is playing with caller id. I have the caller id being captured into a log file, but now I want to enhance things by having the same information displayed on the computers that are connect to the Linux box at the time that the phone rings It would also be nice if the information was also displayed on the samba connected boxes too. I don't want to use email or http because I am looking for real time messaging. So, if I am working at the computer, or if I am in a room with a computer in it, and the phone rings, I can hear the message of the caller id spoken as the phone is ringing. Any thoughts?
