Hi their. That's so cool. Thanks for the info. I should probably say that if possible, I need to recompile those tools that use the deprecated OSS interface. Either that or let the package maintainers know of this, and they would generate new packages for those tools. Not a difficult task at all. As far as mplayer and mpg321, I think that I've even seen options where you can specify the default audio interface at Configure time.
