ZipSpeak newbie

I have found that zipspeak has problems with loading modules for
various devices. I'd just grab zipslack and replace it's kernel with
the apropriate kernel with speakup compiled in. this can be found in
the kernels/speakup.i directory in the correct version of slackware
your version of zipslack is.
