speakup.i scsi conflict followup

cdrecord -scanbus finds nothing once hdd=noprobe was used on boot up and
modprobe ide-scsi was loaded after login.  What follows are the relevant
lines from rc.modules pertaining to scsi.  Certain of them are commented
out and others are not.  If possible could someone critique this set of
scsi kernel support settings?

# SCSI kernel support:
/sbin/modprobe scsi_mod
/sbin/modprobe scsi_syms
/sbin/modprobe sd_mod
/sbin/modprobe sg
/sbin/modprobe sr_mod
#/sbin/modprobe st
