Hi, I tryed with no success earlier today to compile lame. I'm using debian woody 3.0 and the compiler is gcc 2.95.4 when I ran configure for lame I got this output. *FILE* creating cache ./config.cache checking host system type... i586-pc-linux-gnu checking target system type... i586-pc-linux-gnu checking build system type... i586-pc-linux-gnu checking cached system tuple... ok checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for mawk... mawk checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no checking for style of include used by make... GNU checking for ranlib... ranlib checking for gcc... gcc checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... no configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables. *END* is it possible I broke gcc somewhere along the line? thanks in advance. -- Shaun Oliver In a world without fences and walls who needs Windows and Gates?
