I can not seem to reproduce your problem here. I did the following as a test. 1. Created a directory to touch some files in. 2. Changed to the directory and did 'touch -- -file1' 'touch file2' 'touch file3' 'touch file4' Doing ls in this directory gives the expected output. dlawlor:~/output$ ls -file1 file2 file3 file4 ls -l gives the following. dlawlor:~/output$ ls -l total 0 -rw-r--r-- 1 dlawlor users 0 Jul 2 23:26 -file1 -rw-r--r-- 1 dlawlor users 0 Jul 2 23:27 file2 -rw-r--r-- 1 dlawlor users 0 Jul 2 23:27 file3 -rw-r--r-- 1 dlawlor users 0 Jul 2 23:27 file4 This seems to be a strange problem indeed. If there is anyway I can help just let me know. I can't reproduce it here. Doug -- Doug Lawlor <dlawlor at roadrunner.nf.net>
