For us using screen access, the tvnow subscription is free. Otherwise it is paid $29.95 a month. You are sent download instructions twice a month, and you download a password protected zipfile with the tv data updated monthly, or rather twice monthly. You get many national satellite/cable listings, with more channels. The idea is to have a means for not being tied totally online for your listings browsings. Originally there was an x windows versions, but that has evolved into a console output version. It's really quite harmless to receive, and those involved are open to suggestion and are willing to learn what's needed.
