Matt, Your point is well taken. If you would be a little more specific in your documentation about which file to download, the need for storing a copy on the ftp site would go away. The vonfusion seems to center on a couple point: first, the self-extracting version appears to be designed for systems running X. second, The rpm version is great for distributions such as Redhat which rely on the rpm utility to install packages. For distributiojns not using rpm, this version must be preprocessed with the rpm2tgz utility before it can be installed.
