That is not true.  The OFA has had the OFVWG for a number of years now.  It was originally proposed by Mellanox for this precise reason, and its current chair is Mellanox.  Inexplicably, it has been moribund for quite a while.

Traditionally, these talks have been held at the annual (and very well-established) OpenFabrics Alliance Workshop, one of the key purposes of which since the beginning was to support developers working on RDMA.  Given that Verbs originated as a work product of the OFA before moving into GitHub repos, the workshop continues to be the right place to hold these conversations.

I agree with Doug.  Fracturing the industry and creating new forums is not beneficial to anyone.
