The OFA has had the OFVWG for a number of years now. It was originally proposed by Mellanox for this precise reason, and its current chair is Mellanox. Inexplicably, it has been moribund for quite a while. >And as such UCF >thought it will be useful to have some talks at the annual UCX consortium. Traditionally, these talks have been held at the annual (and very well-established) OpenFabrics Alliance Workshop, one of the key purposes of which since the beginning was to support developers working on RDMA. Given that Verbs originated as a work product of the OFA before moving into GitHub repos, the workshop continues to be the right place to hold these conversations. I agree with Doug. Fracturing the industry and creating new forums is not beneficial to anyone. -Paul >-----Original Message----- >From: linux-rdma-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:linux-rdma- >owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Gilad Shainer >Sent: Monday, November 26, 2018 11:15 AM >To: Doug Ledford <dledford@xxxxxxxxxx>; Christoph Hellwig ><hch@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>; Yossi Itigin <yosefe@xxxxxxxxxxxx> >Cc: linux-rdma@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx >Subject: RE: 2018 UCX and RDMA Annual Developers Meeting > >On 11/26/2018 6:56 AM, Doug Ledford wrote: >> On 11/22/2018 11:25 AM, Christoph Hellwig wrote: >> > It might help to explain what UCF is any why it pretends to be >> > relevant for Linux.
