Heh, there's zaurus; not exactly pair of AAAs, but 1mAh li-ion.

OTOH zaurus seems to be "simple" -- most of energy is eaten by
backlight (like 4 times the rest of system for max backlight), and
that needs to be controlled by user, anyway....
