That last sentence is slightly overstated. I am certainly willing to help debug problems on kernels that aren't the most recent bleeding edge, provided they aren't _so_ old as to be completely irrelevant. It's not uncommon to find that the bug in question is still present in today's kernel. Of course, if I recognize the bug as one that has already been fixed then there's no point in doing any more testing or debugging.
