I would think that just keeping the #ifdefs is the best thing for now. An

I sent a new patch named "[PATCH] ARCH: OMAP: Fix compile error with
OMAP1" with the solution using #ifdefs.
alternative would be to add null function stubs for
ctrl_{read,write}_reg() for OMAP1, or maybe a function that oopses when
called on an OMAP1 machine. But I doubt it's worth the effort unless
someone wants to work on OMAP1/2 multiboot.
hmm... imho you can forget this option. OMAP1/2 multiboot is not supported
at all afaics. It would be a huge task to allow it.
