Hi,

haven't quite solved it satisfactorily but found a way to heal things
manually (which is smth.).

The shared irq made me try and unload the other drivers using this irq,
and after I had everything unloaded and the irq 209 was gone from
/proc/interrupts I could load the NIC's driver again and it worked.

My prime suspect atm is the slmodemd (smart link winmodem daemon)
not behaving the way it should. (If it's the soundcard, I'll have to
put on my thinking-cap to find out how to unload it with esd and all).

Thanks again for the irq hint ... that helped a lot,

Karl.
