How to get mails from Internet to Linux

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I have Red Hat Linux 6.2 on Intranet and running apache.

I can send mail from linux to surindersingh@bflsoftware.com but I am
unable to send the mails from "surindersingh@bflsoftware.com" to
"surinder@164.164.58.187" .i.e.linux machine. The message to my
bflsoftware.com mail-id will have surinder@linux in TO: but i cann't
send to surinder@linux because linux is not a valid domain on Internet.

my email client eudora will give invalid syntax for the mail-id. If i am
not having valid domain name on net for the linux machine, can I get
emails or not? if yes how should i put RCPT TO: field?
------
the sendmail deamon is running.
[surinder@linux surinder]$ ps -eaf|grep sendmail
root 566 1 0 Jul30 ? 00:00:00 sendmail: accepting
connections
-----------

Please help me to enable mail server on linux to receive mails.

Thanks
Surinder
