Because I've an old clipper application that must work in client-server mode throught IPX (mars-nwe). In an old redhat9 server it worked fine, with dosemu1.0 and msdos5.0 that connects itself to the netware share

Usually, it's better to think in terms of goals rather than means
to achieve them. If you state your goal (needs, requirements) and
ask for help you are likely to get more useful information.

(same as the remote clients);
but with dosemu1.4+freedos, I can't use the netware tools to connect to the share because they need msdos 3 to 5 and don't work with freedos. Using the msdos5.0 on dosemu1.4, results in very slowly execution of the clipper application (I don't understand why...) so now last chance is to use dosemu1.0 with msdos5.0, that are known to work fine with that clipper application.

So, how about asking how to make dosemu work fast enough for your
app to succeed? Maybe someone knows how to make it work with MSDOS 5.0
fast enough, or how to make freedos work faster, or sth like that.
