I'd like to just see how this works out in practice instead while
disagreeing to agree to disagree. The CI system should catch plenty of
issues we've only noticed later on in the past. The committers are also
aware of the requirements here.

My stance is fixing (typically small) issues on top or reverting a patch,
partially or wholly, is much less trouble for everyone involved. This is
what we've done in the past, too. I'd like to have Hans's view on this,
too.
