Thanks for the flowers. :) Thats part of what you get from someone who has 
been steering electrons to make them do useful work for close to 65 years.  
You 'keep up the magic in front of the frogs' by remembering such 
apparently innocuous stuff.  I assume its equally applicable to the sata 
power cabling, but relative small numbers of those that I have observed 
actually use a wire of that specific color.

In this case, and despite the moderators comments to the contrary, it IS 
information that can be applied to good use by a wide number of users.  
That fact that it is not *buntu specific isn't worth invoking some list 
rule.

But hardware store?  That doesn't sound like the sort of store I would go 
shopping in for replacement Sata cables.  In my searching, I've even found 
cables with metal clips that latch into the socket, another huge 
improvement IMNSHO.  I think it comes with the latest Sata standard, at 
least I hope it does.
