Would you be able to submit a patch for this? Thanks for the quick response, that sounds reasonable. Usually I'd go for the patch but I'm not familiar with the ext4 code or the invariants at play, so I'd prefer if that could be done by somebody who really knows well what they're doing. I'd be happy to fund that somebody's hour of work or two though (assuming that's what it takes).
