I mis-read it when looking at it in the Vista Device Manager. It would seem theirefore that it is a M115 derivative. I'm not sure what the 'S' would stand for - Sony perhaps? You are right that it is shipped with a Sony Vaio machine, in this case a Vaio VGX-TP1E Media Centre PC. > > I've played around with the saa7134-core module and added the definition for the card in question (i.e. I copied the definition for M1155 using 1461:e836 - as indicated by dmesg - rather than 1461:a836 as for the original M115). Obviously I don't just expect this to work. However dmesg now reports: > > [ 38.915676] saa7133[0]/dvb Huh? unknown DVB card? > [ 38.915676] saa7133[0]/dvb frontend initialisation failed > > So maybe its now down to identifying the tuner. The only information I could get about the tuner was that it has both a 'BDA Analogue Tuner' and a 'BDA Tuner' the latter of which is presumably the DVB tuner. Sorry but don't know what the BDA part stands for and I can'r see it listed in the supported tuner devices. Any idea if such a tuner - even if only analogue for now - is supported? > > John. from the eeprom others did provide I would expect some XCeive 2028, but it is not for sure. Seems there is no digital channel decoder on it, but you are the one who can verify it all ;) As root you can modprobe every card you want.
