Apologies for the third email in quick succession. As a last resort I attempted to use the firmware from the Windows driver CD I got with the card (taking the same file as in the script get_dvb_firmware, as the file is a different size I guess it's a different version of the firmware) and this produced the same ouput as I got using any of the different versions of the firmware for the tda10046. I've included the output below. The line [ 166.177253] tda1004x: setting up plls for 48MHz sampling clock [ 168.138939] tda1004x: found firmware revision 29 -- ok appears each time I attempt a scan. Hope that helps someone understand the problem, Rob [ 28.129038] Linux video capture interface: v2.00 [ 28.360707] saa7130/34: v4l2 driver version 0.2.14 loaded [ 28.360783] PCI: Enabling device 0000:00:0f.0 (0004 -> 0006) [ 28.360797] ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:0f.0[A] -> GSI 18 (level, low) -> IRQ 20 [ 28.360809] saa7133[0]: found at 0000:00:0f.0, rev: 240, irq: 20, latency: 32, mmio: 0xbd000000 [ 28.360816] saa7133[0]: subsystem: 5168:0306, board: LifeView FlyDVB-T DUO / MSI TV@nywhere Duo [card=55,autodetected] [ 28.360825] saa7133[0]: board init: gpio is 210000 [ 28.360921] input: saa7134 IR (LifeView FlyDVB-T D as /class/input/input4 [ 28.542131] saa7133[0]: i2c eeprom 00: 68 51 06 03 54 20 1c 00 43 43 a9 1c 55 d2 b2 92 [ 28.542141] saa7133[0]: i2c eeprom 10: 00 ff a6 0f ff 20 ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff [ 28.542148] saa7133[0]: i2c eeprom 20: 01 40 01 02 03 ff 01 03 08 ff 01 2d ff ff ff ff [ 28.542154] saa7133[0]: i2c eeprom 30: ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff [ 28.542160] saa7133[0]: i2c eeprom 40: ff 1c 00 c0 ff 10 ff ff c2 96 01 16 30 15 ff ff [ 28.542167] saa7133[0]: i2c eeprom 50: ff 00 ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff [ 28.542173] saa7133[0]: i2c eeprom 60: ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff [ 28.542179] saa7133[0]: i2c eeprom 70: ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff [ 28.690648] tuner 1-004b: chip found @ 0x96 (saa7133[0]) [ 28.691242] usbcore: registered new interface driver xpad [ 28.691247] /build/buildd/linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22/drivers/input/joystick/xpad.c: driver for Xbox controllers v0.1.6 [ 28.735473] tuner 1-004b: setting tuner address to 61 [ 28.775424] tuner 1-004b: type set to tda8290+75 [ 30.417485] tuner 1-004b: setting tuner address to 61 [ 30.457438] tuner 1-004b: type set to tda8290+75 [ 32.054514] saa7133[0]: registered device video0 [v4l2] [ 32.054651] saa7133[0]: registered device vbi0 [ 32.054789] saa7133[0]: registered device radio0 [ 32.115560] PCI: Enabling device 0000:00:0e.0 (0004 -> 0005) [ 32.115570] ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:0e.0[A] -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 19 [ 32.154622] saa7134 ALSA driver for DMA sound loaded [ 32.154658] saa7133[0]/alsa: saa7133[0] at 0xbd000000 irq 20 registered as card -2 [ 32.315889] DVB: registering new adapter (saa7133[0]).
