Of course it is when the poster's kernel is more than 2 years old (2.6.12
was released on June 17, 2005).

It would take a superhuman developer to be able to recall every single
patch that went in between 2.6.12 and now and to correctly analyze the
effects of, and interactions between, every single patch.

And it was a perfectly straightforward answer, the DVB devs would be
helped if the bug could be reproduced with more recent kernel versions as
it gives a much more solid base from which to start debugging (and if it's
not present in recent kernels, hey, problem solved).

The request for a test with a recent kernel could of course have been
expressed in a less terse manner, but that's something else.
