Both DVB and V4L API documentations can be found at: http://linuxtv.org Under 'Documentation' section. There are already several hybrid devices implementing both APIs, for Conexant bt878/879 and cx2388[0-3] and for NXP chips saa713[0-5] and saa7146. We should add soon another driver for Empiatech em288x hybrid devices. There are some improvements being suggested for improve the internal API handling, to allow better support for hybrid tuners.
