timeout problems with nova-s+

Hi list,

I have very unstable video and sound with my nova-s plus, and wonder, if
anyone has the same problem or can help me out?

I use vdr for recording and tested with xine dvb to see if it is vdr related:
both show the same symptoms.
Vdr's femon plugin shows excellent reception values and a dreambox and
a pace reciever show now problems when connected to the same cable.

The recordings and live view are not always bad. Sometimes it works just fine,
but I couldn't find a pattern yet.

this is a (very small) excerpt of what I get from the logs:

This is my linux version (from boot.msg):
<5>Linux version 2.6.18.2-34-default (geeko@buildhost) (gcc version 4.1.2 20061115 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)) #2 SMP Thu Jan 4 15:53:53 CET 2007

I tried with the shipped dvb drives and with what I got from hg clone http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb as described in the wiki:
$ hg tip
changeset: 5525:04775fe614d6
tag: tip

date: Sun Apr 15 06:09:56 2007 -0700
summary: usbvision: fix confusion over 7-bit vs 8-bit TDDA9887 addresses

Btw: can I see from the logs, which dvb version is currently used?

I searched google and the archives and found nothing related :-(
Btw. which archive would you reccommend for searching?
I found marc and gossamer, but search was not very efficient (for my taste).

TIA, Joachim
