so the problem is still here on cinergy T2 and ubuntu 6.10 for Marc.
In fact the device is set to full speed instead of high speed:

remote control as /class/input/input11
I suspect a problem on some USB host drivers...

I will try to find a real machine to install this distribution. I tried
under vmware but it cannot do USB High Speed emultation.
