Ok - I hand edited cx88-cards.c (bit of a newbie - could someone give me a quick example of the command to correctly patch in this case) - did a make distclean and rebuilt the modules. I still get no audio but a perfectly good picture. I am testing using mplayer - mplayer /dev/video2 -vo xv -ao ALSA Then I tried v4l2-ctrl -i1 and tested in the same way.
