I wonder if anyone is able to help me to get the frontend for my WinTV Nova-T USB 2 DVB unit to load. I’ve tried on two freshly compiled kernels: 2.6.17.6 and 2.6.16.19, both with the relevant modules compiled (as far as I’ve been able to ascertain) and both with the same effect (excerpt from dmesg): dvb-usb: found a 'Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-T usb2' in warm state. dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer. DVB: registering new adapter (Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-T usb2). dvb-usb: MAC address: 00:0d:fe:35:35:35 --> dvb-usb: no frontend was attached by 'Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-T usb2' input: IR-receiver inside an USB DVB receiver as /class/input/input2 dvb-usb: schedule remote query interval to 100 msecs. dvb-usb: Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-T usb2 successfully initialized and connected. usbcore: registered new driver dvb_usb_nova_t_usb2 I believe all of the appropriate kernel modules are loaded (excerpt of lsmod): dvb_usb_nova_t_usb2 4932 0 dvb_usb_dibusb_common 5828 1 dvb_usb_nova_t_usb2 dib3000mc 15008 1 dvb_usb_dibusb_common dib3000_common 1888 1 dib3000mc dvb_usb 19976 2 dvb_usb_nova_t_usb2,dvb_usb_dibusb_common dvb_core 72840 1 dvb_usb firmware_class 7616 2 isicom,dvb_usb i2c_core 16912 2 dib3000_common,dvb_usb dvb_pll 10116 2 dvb_usb_dibusb_common,dvb_usb uhci_hcd 20332 0 usbcore 116320 5 ehci_hcd,dvb_usb_nova_t_usb2,dvb_usb,uhci_hcd lsusb reports the device as "ID 2040:9301 Hauppauge Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-T USB2 (warm)", but /dev/dvb/adaptor1 contains no frontend, just demux0, dvr0 and net0. Equally suspicious is the fact that the device cannot be hot-plugged--it's only ever detected from a reboot. I've even resorted to opening the thing up to check is it contains the DiB chip not some new variant, and it does seem to have the DiB3000P on the board. Any suggestions would be most welcome!
